East Ham

Situated just eight miles from Charing Cross, East Ham is a vibrant and thriving part of London. Designated as a Major Centre in the London Plan, businesses and community organisations have flooded to the area, ensuring there are a wide variety of amenities and entertainment-venues for residents.

East Ham has always been community-orientated and there are plenty of groups, programs and associations which still meet regularly. Whether you want to take advantage of the outdoor sports groups in one of East Ham's green spaces, join a local resident's association or join a family group for children and young people, there is always plenty to do in the area.

Whilst East Ham is a wonderful place to live and work, it also has great links to other parts of the city. Close to both the North Circular Road and the A13, East Ham's road links make it easy to get around by car, but there are a number of handy public transport services too. With the Hammersmith & City and District lines running through East Ham Underground station, you can be in Central London within minutes or head towards the end of the line for Essex. With two Crossrail stations expected to be opened within three miles of East Ham, residents will have even more options when it comes to travel. As well as great road and rail links, East Ham is perfectly located for frequent flyers. Close to London City Airport, you won't have to face long journeys or last-minute dashes next time you have a flight to catch.

Unlike many areas in London, East Ham has a large number of green spaces. Both Plashet Park and Central Park offer a wide range of facilities, including cafes and playgrounds, while the historic graveyard at St Mary's Church is a recognised nature reserve. With eight parks in East Ham, residents are spoilt for choice when it comes to exploring the outdoors, and there are numerous walking trails and running routes to enjoy in your spare time.

Filled with cafes, restaurants and bars, East Ham has a thriving nightlife and is a well-known haven for foodies. Recognised for its South Indian fare, there are numerous award-winning restaurants and eateries in the area, as well as delicatessens, snack bars and coffee shops.

When it comes to architecture, East Ham is difficult to beat. Residential properties are primarily Edwardian and Victorian, with many stunning terraces on offer. The wide, tree-lined avenues which optimise East Ham are highly coveted and are always popular with new residents and homeowners, whilst the historical buildings which fill the town highlight the area's roots and culture. East Ham estate agents routinely show properties in the area, but it's rare they have to be shown twice. Combining exquisite architecture with reputable schools, a large variety of amenities and a picturesque town centre, East Ham is the perfect place to live.

With so much on offer, it's not surprising that East Ham has become one of the most popular areas to live in London. Spectacular properties, green, open spaces, great travel links and a thriving commercial district may not be a combination you see in London a lot, but it's what East Ham is known for.
